Forest Hills Foundation awards record $140,000 in teacher grants, seeks funds for after-school clubs

Mona Hale, communications director for the Forest Hills Foundation for Education, reported that last year's fundraising allowed the foundation to award a district-high $140,000 in teacher grants this year and that 39 teacher grants were distributed across schools.
"Because of our very successful fundraising efforts last year, the foundation was able to award a $140,000 in teacher grants this year," Hale said, and she thanked donors and board members for supporting classroom projects. Hale said the foundation's fall campaign has raised $12,000 toward a $20,000 goal to support Nagle's after-school clubs and that every gift will be matched by the JP Hayden and Lois Hayden Family Foundation.
Hale invited the community to the foundation's fall party, 'Denim and Diamonds,' scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, at Belterra Park; she said the event sold out last year and encouraged early ticket purchases. The board thanked Hale and the foundation for targeted support to teachers and students.
