Board presses contractors to secure site after questions about Hogg Memorial gate access

Dr. Marcus replied that the expectation is the gate may be opened to allow construction crews in the morning but should be closed; he said contractors were instructed that once people have cleared out they are to close and lock the gate and that he would text contractors after the meeting to reiterate the requirement.
Dr. Marcus framed compliance as mandatory: "I will reiterate it again and make sure that it's clear that this is not a nice request. It's a demand." Another member said that completion of a culvert project soon should resolve the access issue by providing a different entry for crews.
The superintendent said he would follow up with contractors and local police and fire chiefs before re-opening the area to the general public.
