The Ore City ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to adopt a resolution approving SB12 and the district's Parent Rights procedures.
The motion to approve SB12 and Parent Rights was made by Bobby Byrd and seconded by Virginia Harris; the board recorded a 7'00 vote in favor. District staff said the SB12 outline was read aloud by Rachel Evers during the Superintendent's Report and that the library materials review and the district's grievance timeline are already in place but remain under review by the district's attorneys to ensure compliance.
Board members also separately approved local policy updates (FFAC (LOCAL)) as presented, again by unanimous vote. Trustees did not request further public comment on the items during the meeting.
