Orange Grove ISD recognizes state powerlifting qualifiers and names Teachers of the Year

The Orange Grove ISD Board opened its April 20 meeting with recognition of student and staff achievements. Coach Miranda Henderson introduced girls who qualified for state powerlifting competition and Coach Jordan Salas introduced the boys who qualified. Each campus principal then recognized Teachers of the Year for 2026–27: Dana Hinze (Elementary), Ashley Clenney (Junior High), Lisa Marley (High School) and Kathy Gafford (Primary).
District reports included a technology presentation by Director Bailey Rode, campus principal reports, the superintendent’s report from Eddie Hesseltine, and a school board training status report read by Board President Zulema Gonzalez that listed each member’s training completion status. The public comment period recorded no speakers.
