Council approves minutes, appointment to Planning Commission and monthly claims; fines-and-fees increase to be discussed

At the July 2 meeting the Wanatah Town Council approved the minutes from its June 4, 2026 regular meeting after a motion by Vice President Newburn and a second by Councilman Sutton; the vote was recorded as all ayes. The council also approved a motion by Councilman Sutton, seconded by Vice President Newburn, to appoint Dave Berger to the Planning Commission.
In the financial portion of the meeting Vice President Newburn moved and Councilman Howard seconded approval of the claims as presented; the minutes record a vote of all ayes. Separately, Councilman Sutton told the council he wants the fines and fee schedule increased by 25 percent and said that topic will be discussed further at an upcoming workshop. No changes to the fines and fees were adopted at this meeting.
