Pasadena ISD recognizes coaches, volunteers and student scholarship winners

At its Feb. 24 meeting, the board honored Coach Manuel Moreno Jr. for a Texas Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame induction, presented NASA Space University Scholarship winners, and acknowledged community donations and award recipients tied to district events.
During the special recognition portion of the Feb. 24 meeting, Superintendent Dr. Toni Lopez recognized Coach Manuel Moreno Jr. for his induction into the Texas Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame and Kristen Eberhardt, an SHHS science teacher, presented NASA Space University Scholarship winners.
Representatives from the Pasadena mayor's office—Jessica Ramirez, Lupita Monreal and Tish Eubanks—acknowledged Pasadena ISD's participation in the city food drive. Dr. Kirk Lewis presented a check to the Pasadena ISD Education Foundation on behalf of the McDonald's Texas Invitational and announced award recipients Aja Rovaris (Darla Haygood Volunteer of the Year) and Troy McCarley (Barry Harris Extra Effort award). Several student competition achievements were noted for information only.
