Council gets updates on paving, waterline, EV charging and baby box procurement

Council received updates that a local paving ordinance will be before council Aug. 20, an OPWC waterline bid opening is scheduled next week, the EV charging-station bid will be at the end of August, and a $16,000 invoice for a baby box has been processed.
At the Aug. 6 work session, staff updated council on several smaller infrastructure and procurement items.
Nichols said the local paving bid opening has concluded and the ordinance will be before council at the Aug. 20 meeting; urban paving base repairs and ADA upgrades are underway on State Street. He said the OPWC waterline project has a bid opening scheduled next week and will be brought to council afterwards, and that the EV charging station project is scheduled for a bid opening at the end of August. On the baby box project, Nichols said, "the $16,000 invoice for the baby box itself was processed," and staff will investigate construction needs for the north wall that will host the device.
Council did not take action on these items at the work session; in most cases staff said bids and ordinances will return to council for formal consideration.
