The Mount Vernon ISD Board of Trustees convened a special session at 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2024, called to order by Board President Leigh Anne Ramsay. The board certified the posted agenda by a motion from Vice President Lynda Baird, seconded by Aaron Sanders; the vote was recorded as 7–0.
Under the consent agenda the board approved the Aug. 12, 2024 regular meeting minutes and a final budget amendment. The consent agenda motion was made by Kyle Clayton and seconded by Cathy Lawrence-Robinson and passed 7–0. The minutes also record an opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
The published agenda included an open forum and a public hearing to receive input on the proposed 2024–25 budget and tax rate; the minutes contain no transcribed public comments. The agenda listed a closed session for personnel and legal consultation, but the board did not convene a closed session. President Ramsay adjourned the meeting at 5:21 p.m.
