Nederland ISD reports slight enrollment increase, strong athletics participation and CTE certification updates

At the May 18 meeting district officials reported enrollment up slightly to 5,328, ADA at 95.47%, 181 varsity athletes with over 80% multisport participation, 233 academic honor roll athletes, and CTE updates including 2026 IBCs and new 2027 certifications.
Assistant Superintendent Erica Gauthier reported district enrollment at 5,328 students, eight above the same time last year, and Alternative Campus enrollment for April at 14 (compared with 24 last year). The district’s ADA for the fifth six weeks is 95.47%.
Athletic Director Scott Rich reported 181 varsity athletes with over 80% participating in multiple sports and 233 students on the athletic academic honor roll. CTE updates were presented by Gauthier (Mr. Spell was unable to attend) describing Industry-Based Certifications earned in 2026 and new certifications planned for 2027.
Superintendent and staff highlighted maintenance and transportation work, recently completed adaptive playground equipment, and planned summer recreation at C.O. Wilson and Helena Park elementary schools.
