Presenters Kayle Arlaus and Letty Miller said the district is responding to state requirements and local enrollment trends by developing a program focused on biliteracy, bilingualism and access to grade-level content.
Arlaus and Miller outlined steps the district plans to take: align curriculum resources, provide targeted professional development for teachers in dual language instruction, recruit and retain qualified bilingual educators, and increase family engagement and communications so parents are informed and supported. The board received the update for continued development and implementation planning.
