Nederland ISD board administers oath to incoming trustee, re-elects Phillips as president
Summary
At its May 18 meeting the Nederland ISD Board of Trustees administered the oath of office to incoming trustee A.J. Delage, then unanimously re-elected Nicholas Phillips as board president and named Micah Mosley vice president and Roya Scott secretary.
The Nederland Independent School District Board of Trustees administered the oath of office to A.J. Delage on May 18 and then reorganized its leadership.
Judge Gordon Friesz administered the oaths for the candidates elected May 2, 2026; Judge Burnett was unable to attend. Following the swearing-in, Suzanne Isom nominated Nicholas Phillips for board president, with Tonya Mitchell seconding. The motion passed unanimously, 7-0. Roya Scott was nominated and elected secretary, and Micah Mosley was elected vice president by the same unanimous margin.
The reorganized seating order was announced as DeCuir, Isom, Mosley, Phillips, Scott, Delage and Mitchell. No public comments were made during the open forum portion of the meeting.
The changes take effect immediately and were recorded in the minutes of the May 18 regular meeting.
