Guy Stubbs briefed the board on health insurance renewal quotes after higher early‑year usage raised the Blue Cross renewal. Stubbs said SelectHealth and PacificSource provided lower quotes and that recent months' claims have reduced the projected renewal somewhat.
Commissioners asked Stubbs to return next week with more detail on SelectHealth, including an HSA option for employees; staff and the board signaled an intent to select a plan at the next meeting. Budget staff Tracee McKim noted SelectHealth’s quote was much lower and said Jerome County’s HR director is paid higher than peers per an Association of Counties salary survey.
