Pine Tree ISD authorizes superintendent to pursue $616K in leftover bond projects and other capital items

The Pine Tree ISD Board on April 14 authorized the superintendent to proceed with a set of projects to spend leftover bond contingencies and underrun funds.
District staff told trustees the district currently had $616,270 in contingency funds from the baseball complex and reported that recent CTE and parkway project bids came in $3.3 million under budget with $1.7 million of contingencies originally included. The staff proposal listed prioritized items including a junior-high asphalt drive replacement estimated at $329,375 (KK Mobbs), lower-field lighting at the high school estimated at $209,000 (Tech Lighting), and an estimated $1.2 million for bathrooms at the Pine Tree Auditorium.
"I move to approve authorizing the superintendent to move forward with completing the projects presented using bond funds," Trustee Adam Graves said when making the motion; Trustee Melanie Roudkovski seconded. The motion passed 4-0.
Board members were told the administration will return monthly reports and any cost-estimate changes to the board before further expenditures. Several line items remain at estimate stage, including the auditorium bathrooms, baseball complex parking (estimate $350,000) and a track at Pirate Stadium (estimate $450,000).
