Pine Tree ISD approves contractors for $23.8 million CTE facility and elementary renovations

The Pine Tree ISD Board of Trustees on Feb. 10 approved prime contractors, purchase orders and contracts for the district’s new CTE facility and additions and renovations at Parkway Elementary.
Robert Black of Gallagher Construction Services reviewed competitive sealed proposals received Jan. 30, 2025, and presented a base total sheet cost of $23,346,804. Black told the board the base figure was $3,773,008 under budget and outlined six alternates available to the district. He recommended alternates 1 (perforated deck), 2 (expedited delivery of specified main switchgear) and 4 (additional parking) at an added cost of $124,334. "The total cost is $23,346,804 which is $3,773,008 under budget," Black said. With the recommended alternates, he presented a revised total of $23,795,278, which he said remained $3,324,535 under budget.
Adam Graves moved to approve "the new CTE Facility and Parkway Elementary additions and renovations total sheet, including Purchase Orders, prime contractors, and contracts as presented." Aaron Klein seconded the motion. The motion Passed 6–0. The board also discussed material options for alternate 5, with Black recommending film in place of ballistic glass to manage costs.
The board did not record additional public comment on the project during the meeting.
