Salena Jackson told the Pine Tree ISD board that a Verizon representative had again contacted the district about its cell tower lease and asked for guidance on handling that and future lease-amendment proposals. She said the board is not interested in negotiating new lease terms and that, unless a lease is in its last year or would benefit the district, she "may notify them that the District is not interested and does not need to bring it before the Board."
Jackson framed the guidance as an administrative direction for staff rather than a new formal policy or vote. The board gave no motion or vote on the record during the special meeting; staff will carry out the stated approach when lease amendment inquiries arise.
