Pilot Point ISD approves $88,000 hood replacement and $78,232.50 CTE curriculum contract

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Brant Perry described the need to fully replace the middle school kitchen exhaust hood because the existing system can no longer be safely cleaned or certified to meet fire-safety standards; the Board approved the purchase with a not-to-exceed cost of $88,000. The purchase was presented as necessary to keep the kitchen operational and compliant with the fire marshal.
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction Alicia Bonnett asked the Board to approve a three-year purchase agreement for the iCEV Career and Technical Education curriculum at a cost of $78,232.50 beginning in 2026-27. Bonnett noted iCEV is a State Board of Education–approved CTE platform used to administer Industry-Based Certification exams and that a multi-year contract should protect the district from ongoing price increases. Both motions passed unanimously.
