Pilot Point ISD approves pay resolution for employees affected by winter closures

The Board approved a resolution enabling payment to employees who were idled during the district’s unexpected closure for winter weather on Jan. 26–30, 2026, and authorized administration to submit a state waiver for missed school days Jan. 28–30.
Superintendent Dr. Shannon Fuller presented the resolution and asked the Board to authorize payment consistent with Board policy. The motion to approve was made by Trustee Craig Bickers, seconded by Trustee Justin Chance, and passed 6–0. The district will submit a waiver request to the state for the missed instructional days noted in the motion.
Dr. Brant Perry also reported that the maintenance and transportation departments took proactive measures during the storm and worked extensively on clearing lots and preparing buses; turf installation for the baseball field resumed Feb. 5 to recover lost project time.
