The Pilot Point Independent School District Board of Trustees held a trustee workshop Jan. 19 to review long-range facility planning and received recommendations from the Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC).
Superintendent Dr. Shannon Fuller introduced Dr. Lizzy Johnson, who helped facilitate the LRPC's Jan. 13 meeting. The Board reviewed three principal items: a demographic overview (November 2025) showing 10-year growth projections; a financial-advisor overview presented following a Hilltop Securities workshop outlining the district's bonding capacity and tax-rate considerations; and a set of facility-possibility scenarios for accommodating projected growth.
The minutes state that "the LRPC urged the Board to take action and consider a single bond option to include a High School Phase 1, Elementary School, and renovations to existing facilities." Trustees Craig Bickers and Amy McEvoy asked the superintendent and board president to place an order to call a bond election for May 2, 2026, on the Feb. 9, 2026 board agenda. The minutes record no formal vote to call the election at this special meeting.
Board members discussed the committee's input at length; the minutes summarize the workshop-level guidance but do not list bond amounts, project budgets, or a final timeline beyond the requested agenda placement. The board adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
