PSJA trustees approve superintendent evaluation; contract extended through 2029

Trustees voted to approve the annual evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Alejandro Elias and, under the terms of his contract, his employment term was extended automatically through June 30, 2029. The vote followed a closed-session review and a public motion in open session to ratify the evaluation.
Dr. Elias thanked district staff and trustees when the board returned to open session. "This is a testament saying that our teachers are doing the work and they deserve every cent that they get from the TIA," he said earlier in the meeting while discussing the district’s academic gains and teacher incentive allotment revenue. The board’s approval followed standard evaluation procedures and the board’s subsequent public action to accept the evaluation results.
