Superintendent Robyn Gibson provided operational updates, including facility work footage provided by Steele Freeman and coordination with Atmos regarding a pending gas-line permit that requires city engineer approval. Gibson said permit fees have been waived; if the line must be moved Atmos will bear relocation costs and that the district plans to bury the line deep enough that it will be capped and avoid future moves.
Gibson told the board that moving to the new high‑school site will begin June 15 and that the district is still on target to complete the high school by the end of July. She also noted increased staff cafeteria utilization and reminded the board of an Employee Appreciation Lunch on May 8 and a retirement reception scheduled for May 13 at 4:15 p.m.
