Staff previews TV Highway access management plan; outreach to property owners to begin in August

During the director's report, staff updated the commission on the Tualatin Valley (TV) Highway access management plan. Staff said the plan is being developed with a consultant to consolidate and better manage driveway accesses along the corridor to reduce conflict points and improve safety.
"There are, I believe, 38 driveway accesses onto that small section of TV Highway," staff said, noting several collision hot spots and a few deaths over the last five years. Staff said the effort will include community engagement and property-owner outreach beginning in August; the plan would propose development-code amendments that could, in some locations, consolidate or close accesses. Commissioners were told the change could be contentious for affected property owners.
