A council member described the measure as a housekeeping action that does not change substantive law but makes the updated code accessible to the public. "The only thing I was gonna say, Mayor, is that everything that is being codified has already been adopted by either the state or this local body, so it's not changing anything substantively," a council member said during discussion.
Council voted to waive the second reading and to approve the ordinance, which staff said will allow the publisher to update the online codification immediately.
