The Pampa ISD board heard a request Sept. 23 to authorize additional services from the district architect, Shiver-Megert, to design and supervise replacement of the Pampa High School track, but the item was tabled until the October meeting because the proposed agreement with CEI Engineering was not complete.
Angel Grant explained the statutory requirement that an engineer prepare plans and supervise construction for public works involving public health and safety (citing Texas Occupations Code). The minutes state that Shiver-Megert will hire CEI Engineering as a consultant on the project and that the administration and district attorney are still finalizing the proposed agreement. Mrs. Grant requested the item be tabled until October; the minutes show no board action on authorization at this meeting.
