Burlington Public Schools trustees approved replacement teacher computers and a phone-system upgrade at the June 24 meeting, while deferring a decision on student Chromebooks.
The board voted to table a NexTech quote for student Chromebooks; that motion passed 5–0. Separately the board approved a NexTech quote to replace teacher computers for FY27 on a motion by Terry Graham and seconded by Lindsey Callison; the motion passed unanimously. Later the board approved a quote from SCTelcom to replace the school phone system using school-safety funds; that motion also passed 5–0.
The purchases follow superintendent and principal comments that curriculum and classroom technology needs are being addressed ahead of the new school year. District documents show the Burlington Education Foundation committed to covering costs associated with new computers for the upcoming year.
