PAISD honors students, arts and basketball regional qualifiers

The Port Aransas Independent School District Board of Trustees opened its March 18, 2026, regular meeting with a series of recognitions honoring student and extracurricular achievement. Presenters included Tisha Piwetz, Margaret Price, Danny Reyes, Valerie Martinez and Coach Kris Jones, who highlighted program and individual accomplishments.
These recognitions covered multiple areas: Legacy of Excellence champions (presented by Tisha Piwetz); a Daughters of the American Revolution recognition (presented by Margaret Price); a Texas Theater Scholar acknowledgment (presented by Danny Reyes); Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) recognition (presented by Valerie Martinez); and notice of the boys basketball team’s regional qualification (presented by Coach Kris Jones). Board President Kristi Littleton also acknowledged coaches and community support, noting strong attendance at recent games. The board then proceeded to its business agenda.
