The Port Aransas Independent School District Board of Trustees convened a closed session at 6:00 p.m. April 27 to consider personnel matters, administrator contracts and the potential termination of a term contract teacher under the Texas Open Meetings Act (Texas Government Code 551.071–551.083).
The board returned to open session at 6:44 p.m. and Board President Kristi Littleton "indicated no action to be taken on this agenda item" regarding the proposed termination. The board then approved other personnel business, including extending probationary contracts for three educators for 2026–2027.
Texas law allows local governmental bodies to deliberate personnel and legal matters in closed session; the board's minutes list the statutory citations used to justify the executive session but do not include further public details of the personnel deliberations.
