Council approved a walk-on amendment to the Bolton Partners contract for $8,900 to expand the consultant’s scope of comparables. Ava Scott, director of human resources, said the amendment responds to council feedback from an Aug. 25 workshop and that Bolton estimated approximately three weeks to gather additional municipal responses.
Council members and city staff cautioned that implementation of any recommended pay adjustments is complex and may need to be phased to avoid pay compression between job classes. The city manager and HR director said they will push the consultant for a timely response but noted response times from other municipalities are beyond the consultant’s direct control.
