Technology Director Lincoln Henson told trustees that Comcast completed an upgrade to the network connection between Mokena Elementary School and Mokena Junior High School, increasing the speed to 4 Gbps; the district plans to switch its summer-wide internet connection from AT&T to Comcast. He also said four Chromebook carts have arrived and thanked staff who assembled them.
Separately, the board approved the purchase of Scale virtual machine hardware from SHI in an amount not to exceed $50,008. That motion (moved by Mrs. Anna Briscoe and seconded by Mrs. Lisa Zielinski) carried 7–0 and was recorded in the minutes. The combined technology updates address device access and server capacity; the minutes do not attach a specific deployment schedule for the hardware purchase.
