Commissioners noted the easement helps protect farmland for future generations and provides an access point for conservation funding that can make land affordable for next‑generation farmers. The motion to forward the application passed unanimously.
The board also noted that floodplain presence does not necessarily render a parcel undevelopable and distinguished floodplain from wetlands during discussion; the advisory committee reported wetlands on the property total about 4.5% of the parcel.
