Morales moved and Trustee Jo Ann Pena seconded to accept resignations from Teresa Duque (effective June 22, 2026); Ashley Nicolette Garcia (effective May 27, 2026); Velma Marin (effective July 31, 2026); Donita Powell (effective July 31, 2026); Erica Ramirez (effective June 30, 2026); Gabriella Rivera (effective June 24, 2026); and Lisa Timmerman (effective May 31, 2026). The motion passed unanimously among members present.
Separately, the board voted to extend one-year (187 days) probationary teacher contracts for Eliud Barrera, Sara Garza, Patricia Hinojosa, and Felicia Marie Martinez. The motion to extend contracts passed with four votes in favor and one abstention: Trustees I. Johnson, F. Gutierrez, C. Morales and J. Pena voted yes; Trustee E. Falcon abstained. The minutes record that item 7.D was tabled and no action was taken on that item.
