Premont Independent School District trustees voted on June 23 to continue the district-operated Premont Baby University daycare for the 2026–2027 school year and to set separate weekly rates for staff and community families.
Trustee F. Gutierrez moved and Trustee C. Morales seconded to approve continuation of the licensed in-district daycare for 36 weeks with a staff rate of $50 to $65 per week and a non-staff community rate of $145 to $160 per week. The motion passed unanimously among members present. The item had been pulled from the consent agenda for separate discussion and action.
Administration presented the program as a district-licensed childcare option available to staff and the broader Premont community. The board did not record additional amendments to the rates or program length at the meeting; implementation and enrollment details were to be handled by district administration and reported back as needed.
