Subcommittee approves April minutes; director reports grant activity and service updates

The Cayuga County Alcohol & Substance Use Subcommittee met at C.A.P. in Auburn on May 6, 2026. Chair Ashley Moench called the meeting to order at 12:01 p.m.; quorum was present.
On a motion by Laurie Piccolo, seconded by Jean Cannizzo, the subcommittee approved the April 1, 2026 minutes; the motion carried. The meeting record shows no public commenters for the session.
The Director provided a standing report that the county has applied for a Zero Suicide grant and is exploring other suicide-prevention funding, and noted operational service changes. The minutes state the Drop-in Center is now open five days a week and will make a presentation at a future committee meeting. Committee members also noted that agency reports for March 2026 (Farnham FS, Nick’s Ride, and the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office) had been received in advance.
The meeting adjourned at 12:34 p.m. on a motion by Alexa Hicks, seconded by Gary Mann. The next Alcohol & Substance Use Subcommittee meeting is scheduled for June 3, 2026, at C.A.P., 89 York Street, Auburn.
