Cayuga County Board of Elections processed 1,068 registration changes in April as primaries near

Board of Elections staff told the Government Operations Committee they processed 1,068 registration and related updates in April and certified candidates for several upcoming primaries; the BOE said Early Voting will be held only at the county BOE office to reduce costs.
Chantell Hotaling and Ken Warner of the Cayuga County Board of Elections reported the office processed and updated 1,068 registrations, address changes, party changes and name changes during April 2026. "During the month of April 2026, Cayuga County BOE processed/updated 1,068 various registrations, address changes, party changes and name changes," the BOE update stated to the committee.
The BOE also told the committee it certified candidates for the Primary Election and listed several contested primaries including the state and county Democratic primary for New York State Comptroller, a Democratic primary in the 24th Congressional District, a Democratic primary in the 120th State Assembly District, and Republican primaries in the towns of Sterling and Summerhill. The BOE said, as a cost-saving measure, Early Voting will be offered only at the BOE office in the Old Historic Post Office while full county poll sites will be used on Election Day.
