Board hears update on Green Sea project and technical college marker wording

Staff told the board that the Green Sea marker project remains in production and provided an update on efforts to correct wording on a Horry Georgetown Technical College marker. The staff member asked whether other board members had contact with the project contractor; a board member said they had not gotten further since the last meeting.
Chair said they had attempted to reach Siwa Studios, the maker of the markers, and thought the company could remove and recast a sentence on the college marker for a small fee. “I did try contacting Siwa Studios who makes the markers, but I I couldn't get them. I will try again,” the Chair said. Staff said they would bring any proposed wording changes back to the board for review before finalizing.
