Assistant Superintendent Bill Jardell told the board the resolution addresses payroll consequences of the Jan. 26, 2026 arctic weather closure. He explained the measure allows the district to pay employees who could not report for work because of inclement weather without requiring them to make up hours and authorizes time-and-a-half compensation for employees required to report to check facilities.
The motion to approve the arctic weather resolution was made by Kay DeCuir, seconded by Roya Scott, and passed unanimously, 5-0. The resolution applies to the Jan. 26 closure and is intended to remove the need for affected employees to make up the lost work hours.
