McCamey ISD recognizes students and athletes at Jan. 28 board meeting

Board and campus staff recognized school board members, honored Cross Country runners and presented Outstanding Student and Athlete of the Month awards across the district.
At the start of the Jan. 28 meeting Presiding Officer Amber Selby and Interim Superintendent Dr. Rodney Schneider presented certificates and a proclamation from Gov. Greg Abbott recognizing school board members for School Board Recognition Month. Coaches and principals recognized student accomplishments: Cross Country runners Austin Brooks, Eli Brooks and Antonio Galan were singled out; Outstanding Student of the Month awards were given to Donovan Young and Phoebe Carrillo (high school), Miracle Hinojos and Jaylon Acosta (middle school), Clark Goodwin and Kyara Hernandez (primary). Outstanding Athlete of the Month awards were given to Dora Parada and Landon Smith (high school) and Adaelyn Garcia and Xander Saucedo (middle school).
Those recognitions were recorded as part of the meeting’s opening agenda and did not require board action; they provide a public record of student honors and district extracurricular achievements.
