The Maypearl Independent School District Board of Trustees convened a special meeting Oct. 1, 2024, and entered executive session at 6:31 p.m. for a Team of 8 Board Training and goal-development workshop led by Doug Williams of Region 10 Education Service Center (Region 10 ESC).
Board President Tricia Ikard announced a quorum at 6:30 p.m. before the board moved into the closed session. The training and goal-setting workshop were described in meeting records as the reason for the executive session under Texas Open Meetings Act, Section 551.074. The board reconvened from executive session at 8:30 p.m., and the public portion of the meeting resumed with no formal action reported from the training.
The workshop is part of the board's ongoing governance and goal-development work; district administration listed Superintendent Ritchie Bowling, Assistant Superintendent KayLynn Day and Curriculum Director Cristin Votaw as present for the meeting. The special session was held at Lorene Smith Kirkpatrick Elementary School's board room in Maypearl.
