Trustees approved revisions to the McCamey Primary School Turnaround Plan for 2026–2028. Key points: the campus will adopt a TAP academic calendar for 2026–27 providing a minimum of 165 student instructional days; the campus selected intensive curriculum strategies and Region 18 as capacity-building partners under a "Strong Foundations" approach; and the district will implement Bluebonnet Math in math instruction. The campus has applied for LASO Cycle 4 grant funding to expand the work (including RLA and leadership supports via LIFT); if LASO funding is not awarded, the district commits to funding the Bluebonnet Math rollout and adding select Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL) supports.
Separately the board approved the McCamey ISD Academic Instructional Calendar for 2026–27 as presented. These actions were recorded as motions that carried with recorded votes FOR: Selby, Renteria, Marquez, Acosta.
