City reports airport terminal site and apron work progressing; terminal building 37% complete

City Manager Sonia updated the Presque Isle City Council on the new airport terminal project and other city initiatives during the manager's report on Aug. 5.
Sonia told the council, "The site and utility work is now approximately 60% complete. Construction of the terminal building is approximately 37% complete, and work on the apron is scheduled to be completed by Labor Day." She recognized airport staff, contractors and funding partners for the work. Sonia also announced a relaunch of updated self-guided historical walking-tour signs in partnership with the Prescott Historical Society; the exhibit will relaunch at the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library on Sept. 4.
The manager framed the terminal as a long-term project to serve Northern Maine for generations and highlighted ongoing housing and neighborhood revitalization work.
