The Presque Isle City Council approved a lodging-establishment license for Ferdinand Martin, doing business as Martin's Manor Rentals LLC at 72 Holton Road, after a follow-up inspection by city staff.
City inspector Louis Cousins told the council, "All 8 of them have working combination smoke and c o 2 alarms. All 8 of them have operating egress windows." He said he inspected eight of 14 units, reviewed the furnace installation and found no hazards that would pose immediate danger, though he described the building as "in declining condition" and encouraged continued maintenance. Councilor Craig moved to approve the license and the motion was seconded and carried.
The council's prior conditional approval required repairs and upgrades; Cousins reported the conditions had been fixed or were being fixed during his inspection. The license approval allows the lodging to continue operating under local requirements and state oversight.
