Hanford officials call FreedomFest a success and approve planning funds for 2027

Albert said sponsorships totaled about $8,500, and staff reported event revenue and expenses to council (staff cited roughly $32,091 in revenue and around $71,063 in expenses). Albert recommended continuing the event next year; council discussed options to increase the height and length of the fireworks show and to expand VIP and shuttle services. Council voted to proceed with planning for the 2027 FreedomFest and approved a $77,000 appropriation from the general fund to support planning and the event; staff said the appropriation will be offset through future ticket sales, sponsorships, vendor revenue and potential citation proceeds.
