Toquerville’s City Council approved a conditional-use permit July 15 for a proposed enclosed vehicle storage and rental facility, Zion Toquerville Storage, on parcel T-3-0-22-233. Councilman Joey Campbell moved to approve the CUP with conditions allowing a 24-hour on-site security residence and limiting the use to the nine acres shown; Councilwoman Jenny Chamberlain seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
Applicant Bradley Harrell said the first phase would generate limited traffic; staff discussed required improvements and lighting. City Manager Ben Billingsley noted tax revenue estimates for storage facilities generally but did not provide a specific figure. The city attorney reviewed allowed uses in the Highway Commercial zone and the council attached conditions including the security residence allowance and the acreage limit.
