County officials approved a cluster of personnel and classification actions intended to sustain operations across emergency services, the district attorney’s office, buildings and grounds, and management pay. Staff asked to appoint a deputy director for E‑911 and to create two paramedic and two EMT positions to bolster coverage in Woodhull; the presenter estimated the total ongoing expense to be "in the neighborhood" of $240,000 per year and said some costs will be offset by billing for calls.
The Legislature also approved creating a paralegal assistant position in the district attorney’s office to train behind a retiring employee, reclassifying a filled cleaner role to custodian because of expanded duties, and granting midyear salary step increases for management staff who missed prior increments. Each item was moved, seconded and approved during the meeting.
