Steuben County creates deputy E‑911 role and four frontline EMS positions to staff Woodhull 24/7

The board approved a request to appoint a deputy director of E‑911 and to create two paramedic (CSEA grade N) and two emergency medical technician (CSEA grade F) positions to support 24/7 service in Woodhull.
Nate (speaker 12) said the deputy‑director slot would be filled from an internal supervisor‑dispatcher and described the paramedic/EMT posts as necessary to stop reliance on extended overtime. "These are both for the the same reason as I spoke about last week, to, these will be in the process of taking Woodhull 24 7," Nate said. Board members asked whether the county budgeted for the positions and were told there is money in the budget; staff also noted the county will bill for calls, which will bring in income to help offset costs.
One board member summarized the expected recurring expense as "roughly 240 a year roughly" when discussing the magnitude of cost, and staff clarified that was an approximate figure. Motions to appoint the deputy director and to create the positions were moved, seconded and approved on voice votes.
