The Ottawa County Commission voted 3-0 to approve an electrical upgrade contract with Community Building Solutions for $147,359.00 to replace the courthouse main distribution panel with a 600-amp panel, install a new 200-amp disconnect for the chiller, replace five subpanels and add new electrical outlets throughout the courthouse.
Tyler Garst, director of business development for Community Building Solutions, presented the scope and said the schedule would depend on material availability and that the work "approximated 12 weeks." Building Supervisor Keith Coleman said the county attorney reviewed and signed the contract but raised concerns about scheduling work around court calendars and noise. Commissioners approved the motion (Malmberg moved; Mortimer seconded), with the vote 3-0.
County staff said they will coordinate timing with court schedules and return with a more detailed construction timeline once materials and procurement are confirmed.
