Council backs speed bumps at Mother Goose, considers 15 mph townwide limit

The Town of Nutter Fort council reviewed traffic-safety recommendations from the Traffic Advisory Committee and agreed that Public Works should proceed with two speed bumps at Mother Goose Child Care Center "at the 300 and 400 blocks of West Virginia Avenue." The committee also recommended reducing the speed limit to 15 mph throughout the town; the minutes note that the ordinance to effect the speed-limit change will be presented at the next meeting.
Public Works Supervisor Taylor Keith and Police Chief Ronnie Godwin confirmed additional signage was already installed by "Norwood" park, supplied earlier by the Park Board. The minutes record that Traffic Advisory Board member Mike Curran "spoke on his dissenting view of the recommendation from the board," though the council authorized the physical installation of the bumps and scheduled the legal change for later consideration.
