The Pacific Grove Unified Board participated in a two‑hour cultural‑proficiency and leadership workshop led by Roni Habib. Habib framed the session around three aims—cultural responsiveness and belonging, leader well‑being and resilience, and practical skills trustees and leaders can apply immediately—and introduced an acronym (RAMP) to summarize predictors of well‑being.
Habib asked board members to experience exercises aimed at boosting presence and psychological safety. He argued that these practices support climate and learning, saying, "When we do that, when that happens well, you start to see that the the climate begin to shift and and amazing results happen." The session mixed research summaries (including a point that 70% of employees' perception of climate is traced to leader behavior), experiential activities and partner listening drills intended to improve empathy and accountability among leaders.
