The Allen County Plan Commission voted to initiate two zoning-ordinance amendments at its June 18, 2026 meeting: the 2026 Substantial Amendment 'A' to align the Allen County Zoning Ordinance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Fair Housing Act Amendments (FHAA), and a separate 2026 Allen County Agritourism Amendment.
Adam Day, the Commission vice president, moved to initiate the ADA/FHAA alignment amendment; Paul Lagemann seconded and the motion passed 7-0. Day then moved to initiate the agritourism amendment; James Wolff seconded and the motion also passed 7-0. The motions initiate the ordinance-amendment process, which will proceed through staff drafting, public notice and subsequent hearings as required by county procedures.
