Chief of Staff Chris Cloud reported that the Allen County Juvenile Center applied for and received three grant awards from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute; the board approved establishment of new funds in county accounting for each grant. Cloud described the acceptance as an accounting procedure to record newly awarded funds.
Cloud also presented an addendum to the Quality Correctional Care agreement on behalf of the Allen County Sheriff's Department to provide up to 20 hours per week of mental‑health services for inmates, at a cost of $36,465 for the remainder of 2026. He noted that the new jail facility has dedicated space to deliver these services and will include full‑time staff. Commissioners approved both items by a recorded 3-0 vote.
