The Niles City Council approved its consent agenda at the May 18 meeting and scheduled two public hearings: June 8, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. to solicit input on the intent to levy up to the maximum allowable millage rate (as reduced by the Headlee Millage Reduction Fraction), and June 22, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. for the CDBG PY26 Annual Action Plan.
Councilmember Jessica Nelson presented the consent items, which also included approval of the May 11, 2026 City Council and Committee of the Whole meeting minutes. The consent agenda passed by roll call with six yea votes and two members absent. The scheduled hearings will allow public input before final millage and CDBG plan decisions.
